I can’t count the number of times I have been warned about him. There has been the occasional, “don’t hold your life up for him” or the slightly feminist “he doesn’t own you”. There has also been the unduly favourable but doubly untrue, “he’s a lucky guy” and of course the quintessential, “you can do better”. I may be stupid, naive, infatuated or a worrisome combination of all three but sometimes, logic has to be discarded with because if love is anything, it is illogical. Besides, he is a self-confessed Simpson’s aficionado and knows an Itchy & Scratchy ringtone when he hears one.

Truth is, he makes me happy and for now, that’s all that concerns me.
